Welcome to Lowell, Massachusetts, 1840. You will meet farmers and textile mill workers, Irish immigrants and runaway slaves, businessmen and labor organizers. I will guide you as to when you need to visit here, but you are free to explore at any time! Take a taste of the activities we'll be doing together during the unit and as always, if the spirit moves you, jump right on in and see everything I've gathered together for you from the World Wide Web! We'll be back here together later to get to know Lyddie, to make Lowell our home for awhile, to try our hands at weaving (way more fun than it sounds!) and to work together to think about life's turning points.
